Ipek Gorgun's Aphelion! / Ceramic TL & Ipek Gorgun's Perfect Lung!

Hi everyone,

Here is more strange & beautiful work by Ipek Gorgun, her first album this time, plus a collaboration she did. Weird & dreamy work that lingers & isn't quite like anything else. Enjoy!

Ipek Gorgun's Ecce Homo!

Hi everyone,

Here's some great thoughts from Pitchfork.com on this great Turkish electronic artist:

In the work of Ipek Gorgun, small moves and grand gestures are equally important. Before she molds her instrumental electronic music into massive shapes, the Turkish sound artist infuses it with precise detail. “I work with milliseconds in the beginning, then I switch to seconds, then to minutes,” she once explained. “At the end, I think about the whole arrangement of the structure... So I zoom in, zoom out, and try to find a way to fit everything in place.” As a result, her compositions connect on the micro level of individual sounds as well as on the macro level of widescreen narrative.

I love her mellow space music. Especially "Reverance." Music to time/mind travel by :)

Celtic Mantra's Moving On / Higher Spirit!

Hi everyone,

Well, I don't know much bout this beautiful pair of EPs, save that Celtic Mantra is a Scottish man called Mark Gray. The Moving On EP was written after the death of his brother in Thailand in 2013, helping him deal with this loss. They are beautiful jungly shards, deeply fine. Enjoy!

Afro Celt Sound System's Flight!

Hi everyone,

This band keeps coming back again & again with great new music! Their West African & Irish music expands this time in sound and feel. Here's a good description from www.folkradio.co.uk:

Flight is also a departure in that there’s an underlying concept behind the album. That concept references Simon Emmerson’s fascination for all things ornithological and draws parallels between the migratory flight of birds and human flight – from war, poverty and oppression.

Enjoy with me! :)
